Individually Taught Classes are especially challenging for grading. If instructors are not added to the class section when students register for class, an instructor must be added manually by the department to allow for grading and to ensure that our data is correct. This information is not visible in Class Roster and the department must run a report in OBIEE to find classes with students enrolled but no instructor assigned.

  1. Assign instructors in Maintain Schedule of Classes to all class sections. The load can be 100% for all instructors in an individually taught class. The department scheduler has access to add instructors to class sections and the Instructor/Advisor Table.
  2. Best Practice: Follow up that instructors are assigned prior to Priority Registration. Instructors MUST be assigned by Census day for data validation and no later than the last day of instruction for grading.
  3. Use the Teacher Assignment reports in the OBIEE WSU Data Validation dashboard to check load and assignment for all classes. More information about scheduling and instructor Data Validation for Census.
  4. When an instructor has not been assigned in an Individually Taught Class, assign one using Enrollment Request. The department coordinator has access to assign instructors.
