Orientation Resources

Please review the following items with students during dinner. It is necessary to review these prior to being allowed to release students for the day.

PROGRAM POLICIES

Highlight NO DRUGS or ALCOHOL USE during the program; Cannot be on Greek Row / meeting with any members of any Fraternities or Sororities during session. If they are found violating any of these policies, they may be asked to come back to another session.

WSU's Standards of Conduct for Students

WSU's student code of conduct (Standards of Conduct for Students) applies to students from the time of application for admission, including during NEW COUG ORIENTATION program. The Standards are available on the website for WSU's Center for Community Standards.

Alcohol & Drugs Policy

Alcohol and illegal substances are prohibited for students during the New Coug Orientation program regardless of age. New Coug Orientation students are required to follow WSU's policies relating to alcohol and drugs, which prohibit the use, possession, distribution, or manufacture of alcohol, cannabis, or illegal substances. For the duration of the summer, all alcohol, cannabis, and drugs are prohibited in the Stephenson complex facility for guests and participants.  If you are in the presence of a potential alcohol or drug policy violation, you must leave the area immediately or you may be held responsible for violating WSU policy.

New Coug Orientation participants and guests, regardless of age, who choose to violate this policy, will jeopardize their continuation with the program including the opportunity to register for classes. Such behavior will also be reported to the Center for Community Standards and may result in conduct action for students.  Instances of use or possession of cannabis and illegal drugs will be turned over to the local law enforcement agency.
